What we
Believe:
We believe the Bible is God’s
Word to man, divinely inspired, without error and a perfect treasure of
divine instruction. It is the means provided to mankind by God to help us
know about God, His salvation, and how we are to live in relationship to
Him and our fellow man.
We believe that there is one God
who is the creator and sustainer of all and that he reveals Himself to us
as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that mankind was
created by God and that Adam and Eve are the physical parents of all
mankind. We believe that Adam and Eve sinned against God and from that
point all men are sinners by nature and in need of a savior.
We believe that Jesus Christ is
the only means for forgiveness and salvation of man. We believe that he
was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for our sins,
rose again on the third day, ascended to the Father, and will return
again one day.
We believe the church was
established by Christ to be a blessing to the world as it shares the Good
News of Salvation through Christ, Worships God together, equips its
members for ministry, teaches God’s word, holds one another accountable,
and works to minister to others. It is the body of all believers
everywhere who work together, give of their resources, and serve God’s purposes.
McDonough Road Baptist Church is a local body of believers who work
together to carry out those purposes.

Christ-Centered Worship
Because Christ is our Savior; our worship revolves around honoring God
through Christ. We believe you can't truly worship God without knowing
Him
and the only way to truly know Him, according to the Bible, is through
faith
in Jesus Christ.
Christ-Like Leadership
We expect those in leadership positions to lead the way Christ led.
Biblical Teaching and Preaching
The Bible is our textbook. All of our preaching and teaching should
reflect
the message of the Bible.
Genuine Prayer
Prayer must come from the heart of the believer and is first and
foremost in
seeking God's will.
The Worth of Every Person
Everyone matters to God, therefore everyone should matter to us.
Generous Giving
Everything we have is a gift from God. Our time, talents and
possessions are
on loan from God. We should make the most of them, by serving Him.
Unity
Christ's church should be a church unified around His purpose. When
God's
people are truly within His will, the church is unified.
Christ-Like Behavior
The church has a model for ethics. The model is Jesus Christ.
