Beatitudes for Blessed Mothers

The writer of Proverbs wrote about the virtuous woman, “Her children rise up and call her blessed” (Proverbs 31:28). Several years ago, a ministry assistant in another location, Sheree Steward, helped me pen some “Beatitudes for Blessed Mothers” (I’ve adapted and updated).

             Blessed is the mother who:

*Knows the value of a dandelion

*Bakes cookies for no special occasion

*Doesn’t need a chauffeur’s license to be one

                 *Never runs out of hugs

*Is never too busy to “read, Mommy!”

*Can help mend a broken heart

*Loves to watch “Frozen” over and over

                 *Shares treats with neighbor kids

*Makes a big deal out of preschool art work

*Patiently sits through Saturday after Saturday of soccer

*Always has time and an ear ready to listen

*Challenges her kids to do their best, but isn’t pushy

*Knows when to let go but doesn’t go far

*Is only a phone call or Facetime away

*Teaches her children the importance of people over things

*Has her family in church every week

Moms, we love you and honor you! Happy Mother’s Day!
